14th Annual Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival

September 11, 2020

9am to 5pm

Giddings Public Library & Cultural Center

276 North Orange

Giddings, Texas 78942

Giddings Public Library & Cultural Center and the Giddings Area Chamber of Commerce invite all published Texas authors to submit a book for consideration in our upcoming 14th Annual Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival on Friday, September 11, 2020.

Word Wranglers use words to convey ideas, stories, portray people and places.  We want to honor our authors for their hard work and dedication to their craft.  We also want to give our community an opportunity to meet Word Wranglers and learn about the writing craft.

We are looking for authors of books on the following subjects - the art of quilting, archeology, poetry, Texas cookbooks, bird watching, science fiction, fiction, history, historical fiction, mystery, children’s books, romance, music, Texas gardening, and anything related to Texas.

The day-long festival is held at the Giddings Public Library & Cultural Center where authors sell their books and talk to library patrons. Some authors read or talk to groups of students that come into the library.

On Thursday September 10th, during the day, the authors are invited to visit the Giddings Public Schools as well as local private schools to talk to students about the writing process, ideas for stories, how a book is taken from the idea to the written page, and much more.

Thursday evening a fundraising gala event is held to introduce the authors to the community.  Authors receive two complimentary tickets to attend the gala and will have a table available to pre-sell and sign books to the invitation-only crowd. On Friday, authors will have their same tables for the day to sell to the public. Breakfast and lunch are included for participating authors.

Contact us at the above address or at the email address or phone number below. Submission deadline in person at the library or postmarked by is July 1, 2020 so that the committee will have time to review all books and make their recommendation. Any authors submitting books which are postmarked after July 1th will be placed on a waiting list. Attendees will be notified when their book is received.
